“No matter how far you've gone down the wrong road, turn back”

— Turkish Proverb (that changed my life)

Take a deep breath…

Did that feel nearly impossible? Like you don’t even have time to slow down for a second? Because the crush of anxiety and never-ending to-do lists running through your brain are just exhausting and all you want to do is crawl under a rock and disappear, and you find yourself constantly repeating “Calgon, take me away…!”

Don’t worry, you’ve come to the right place

Thanks for stopping by. I’m Dr. Zarya Rubin, MD, and I’m a Harvard-educated functional medicine physician, a TEDx speaker, and a burnout expert.

I’m passionate about helping smart women in midlife struggling with burnout, chronic health issues, stress, anxiety, and exhaustion take a deep breath, regain calm, take back control, and become energized and stress-proof! Why did I choose to do this work? Because I've been there...

When chronic stress, anxiety and burnout caused me to leave medicine, I knew I needed to make some serious changes if I wanted to lead a fulfilling, authentic life.  I wasn't satisfied that illness and the hamster wheel of stress was my "new normal" and that I would just have to accept it and live with it. I knew I wanted better. I managed to get back on my feet, but then threw myself into another intense, highly stressful career with long hours. The truth is, I was chasing success in order to avoid dealing with the much scarier pit of anxiety that I tried to push away by avoiding dealing with it. And from the outside? I was more successful than ever.

But after I had my daughter, I entered a new phase of exhaustion, one that was even worse than being on-call overnight at the hospital. I was irritable, couldn’t get out of bed, and constantly ill. I was eating a healthy diet (I am actually one of those crazy people who adores kale and quinoa)? So why was I so sick?

None of it made sense to me until I finally realized that the mind-body connection was stronger than ever, and years of untreated stress, anxiety, and PTSD had taken a toll, not just on my mental health, but my physical health as well - autoimmune disease, emergency surgery, adrenal fatigue. I finally got help from physicians, healers, and a coach of my own, who all helped put me back together.

And so my journey of self-discovery has led me to holistic approaches to health and wellness, healing from the inside out, balancing mind and body.  I am so happy with where I am today and would love to share what I've learned with you.

What makes me different from other physicians and coaches?

I studied at Harvard and Columbia and come from the world of medicine, which gives me an in-depth understanding of illness and disease. But I also truly believe in holistic health and wellness, and am well-versed in the practices of yoga and meditation. I trained at the world-renowned Institute For Integrative Nutrition, where we studied over 100 dietary theories and worked with mentors like Dr. Andrew Weil, Dr. Deepak Chopra, and more. I have also experienced coaching myself and seen the transformative effects it can have, even in a short period of time. I take all of my badass Ivy League education (it had to be good for something!), combine it with my intuition, passion, charm (and sense of humor) to bring you the best possible coaching experience with guaranteed results. I then deepened my education at the School of Applied Functional Medicine, completing Level 1, Level 2 and the final Level 3 of advanced Functional Medicine training to bring you cutting-edge approaches to get to the root cause of illness and chart a path towards healing.

I'm so excited that you are here and that you are taking this next step toward achieving your goals, recharging your batteries, redefining your "new normal" and getting you from burnout to BALANCE.

I can't wait for us to work together and embark on this journey to live a balanced, empowered, healthy, fearless life...

xo,

Zarya
